Shahrokh — Biography
Shahrokh was an Iranian singer and composer whose career brought together Persian vocal training and pop recording. Known in full as Shahrokh Shahid, he entered radio programmes as a teenager and studied with Esmail Mehrtash at the Barbod Society for approximately ten years. Solfège studies with Mostafa Kamal Pourtorab and choral performance broadened that foundation. Dooset Daram was his first official song, while his performance for the television series Gharibeh helped establish his public profile. He later continued recording and performing in Los Angeles. Alongside composing his own material, he collaborated with musicians including Farid Zoland, Siavash Ghomayshi, Manouchehr Cheshmazar and Schubert Avakian. He died in Los Angeles on 3 December 2023.
