Fereidoon Foroughi — Biography
Fereidoon Foroughi was an Iranian singer, songwriter, composer and musician born in Tehran in 1951. He was active from the late 1960s and is associated with Persian rock, blues and socially themed popular music. His public career included songs for Iranian cinema, including “Niyaz” and “Yar-e Dabestani-e Man,” and recorded works such as “Gham-e Tanhaei,” “Tangna” and “Marde Gharibe.” After the 1979 Revolution, his ability to perform publicly was restricted. He died in Tehran in 2001.
فریدون فروغی خواننده، ترانهسرا، آهنگساز و موسیقیدان ایرانی متولد تهران در سال ۱۳۳۰ بود. او از اواخر دهه ۱۳۴۰ فعال شد و آثارش در محدوده راک فارسی، بلوز و موسیقی عامهپسند با مضمونهای اجتماعی قرار میگیرد. در کارنامه او قطعههایی برای سینمای ایران، از جمله «نیاز» و «یار دبستانی من»، و آثاری مانند «غم تنهایی»، «تنگنا» و «مرد غریب» دیده میشود. پس از انقلاب ۱۳۵۷ امکان اجرای عمومی او محدود شد. او در سال ۱۳۸۰ در تهران درگذشت.
