Mohammad-Reza Shajarian — Biography
Mohammad-Reza Shajarian was an Iranian classical vocalist, composer, educator and calligrapher born in Mashhad in 1940. He was active from the late 1950s until the 2010s and is associated with Persian classical music and traditional Iranian vocal forms. He studied with major teachers of Iranian music and recorded extensively with ensembles and musicians including Mohammad Reza Lotfi, Parviz Meshkatian and Hossein Alizadeh. His public catalog includes works such as Bidad, Dastan, Astan-e Janan, Night Silence Desert and concerts with the Shahnaz Ensemble. He died in Tehran in 2020.
محمدرضا شجریان خواننده موسیقی کلاسیک ایرانی، آهنگساز، مدرس و خوشنویس ایرانی متولد مشهد در سال ۱۳۱۹ بود. او از اواخر دهه ۱۳۳۰ تا دهه ۱۳۹۰ فعالیت داشت و آثارش در حوزه موسیقی دستگاهی و آواز سنتی ایرانی قرار میگیرد. شجریان نزد استادان مهم موسیقی ایرانی آموزش دید و با هنرمندانی مانند محمدرضا لطفی، پرویز مشکاتیان و حسین علیزاده آثار متعددی ضبط کرد. در کارنامه او آثاری مانند Bidad، Dastan، Astan-e Janan، Night Silence Desert و اجراهایی با گروه شهناز ثبت شده است. او در سال ۱۳۹۹ در تهران درگذشت.
