The saddest Persian songs of the 1390s
As of October 25, 2026 they are “Behet Ghol Midam (Live)”, “Ageh Yeh Rooz” and “Bezan Baran”, across 100 songs on this chart.
The decade sadness stopped being only pop
About two thirds of this chart is pop, a fifth is rap and the remainder classical. That mix does not appear on the older decades, where sorrow is almost entirely a singer with an orchestra. The 1390s are where a rapper grieving became an ordinary thing to hear.
Shadmehr Aghili owns it
He holds more places here than anyone, with Mohsen Yeganeh, Morteza Pashaei and Amir Tataloo behind him — four names that between them describe the whole emotional register of the decade.
Why it is not the sad chart
The all-time sad chart is still held by older records with decades of listening behind them. Almost nothing from this page reaches its top hundred.
How this list is built
Every song carries a confirmed mood tag. The decade is computed from the release date in the Persian calendar, where Nowruz falls in March, so a January release belongs to the previous Jalali year.
